Welcome to Vet Nurse Pet Care (VNPC). We operate a specialized one-to-one grooming service. We believe this environment causes your dog the least amount of stress and ensures they are never left in kennels for extended periods. By booking an appointment and checking the agreement box, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Timing and Cancellation Policies
Appointment Only: We operate strictly by appointment to ensure one-to-one care. Please ensure you arrive on time.
Late Arrivals: Arriving more than 15 minutes late may result in your appointment being cancelled and a full charge applied before any future bookings can be made.
Notice Period: We require at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
Fees: Last-minute cancellations (under 48h) may result in a 50% charge of the service fee. No-shows may be required to cover the full cost of the missed groom before further appointments are scheduled.
Collection: We provide time estimates at check-in. We will contact you with an exact collection time as the groom finishes. Please keep your phone accessible. Failure to collect your pet on time may result in late collection or daycare fees.
Pre-Groom Preparation: Please ensure your dog has had the opportunity to exercise and toilet immediately before arrival.
2. Pet Health & Safety
Medical Disclosure: Owners must disclose all existing medical conditions at the time of booking. Grooming can occasionally expose or aggravate hidden medical problems (e.g., heart disease, arthritis, infections). VNPC is not responsible for the aggravation of these conditions.
Emergency Authorization: By agreeing to these terms, you give VNPC full authorization to seek medical treatment from the nearest available veterinarian in case of an emergency (e.g., seizures, collapse). All veterinary expenses are the responsibility of the owner unless the injury is a direct result of VNPC negligence.
Fleas: If your pet has fleas, an additional €25 fee will be applied to cover the costs of professional insecticide treatment for the grooming room and equipment.
Behavioral Safety: VNPC reserves the right to refuse or stop services if an animal becomes too stressed, aggressive, or dangerous. A grooming fee may still apply in these instances.
Senior Dogs: Senior pets have a higher risk of stress-related issues. We prioritize a "Welfare Groom" for senior dogs, focusing on comfort and hygiene over cosmetic perfection.
3. Matted Coats & Welfare Shave-Downs
Pain Prevention: We will not cause undue stress to your pet by attempting to de-matte a severely matted coat. Matting is painful and can lead to skin infections.
Shave-Down Consent: Removing a heavily matted coat requires clipping very close to the skin. This can lead to minor nicks, skin redness, or behavioral changes. By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge the risks involved and authorize a "shave-down" on welfare grounds if matting cannot be safely brushed out.
Surcharge: Shaving a matted coat incurs an additional charge to cover the extra time required and the wear on specialized equipment.
4. Payment & Satisfaction
Pricing: Quoted prices are estimates. Final pricing depends on the dog's behavior, coat condition, and time taken. Pets not on a regular grooming schedule (every 4-8 weeks) or those in poor condition will be charged at an hourly rate.
Payment: Full payment is due at the time of pick-up. We accept Cash, Revolut, and PayPal.
Satisfaction: If you would like any adjustments made to the groom, please let us know at the time of pick-up. Any adjustments requested after the pet has left the premises will be treated as a new appointment and charged accordingly.
5. Photographs & Privacy
Media Release: You authorize VNPC to take photos of your pet for our client files and social media pages. All photos taken remain the property of VNPC.
